I found these beautiful orchids growing in the Botanical Garden at Balboa Park in San Diego. The upper three orchids were in shade with just a little sunlight bouncing across the petals, while the forward orchids were bathed in sunlight. The gentle curve of the orchid branch is repeated in the foliage surrounding the plant. The cool mauves, greens, and blues in the background provide a serene stage for the dance of the butterflies.
