Welcome to the Joan Hansen Art Gallery. Joan is a fine artist who paints original paintings in the mediums of acrylics, oils, or watercolor. This web site will give you information on purchasing her images in several formats: original paintings, limited edition giclée prints, open edition prints, posters, puzzles, and art instruction material. She has written and illustrated two art instruction books, and co-authored several more. A DVD is available to teach you watercolor painting techniques.These art instruction materials were published by Walter Foster Books. The subjects she paints include American and European landscapes, seascapes, water scenes, florals, wildlife, and wine-related images. Her studio is located in Chula Vista, a suburb of San Diego, CA. Click on the links for more information. Weather permitting, Joan participates in the Coronado Art Association's Art in the Park in Coronado, CA on the first and third Sundays of the month. She is represented by the SmartSpace Art Gallery in San Diego, and is a member of the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild. Currently, Joan teaches acrylic painting workshops at Michaels stores in La Mesa and Clairemont Mesa for Grumbacher, a subsidiary of Chartpak, Inc. She accepts commissions.
